Neurodermatitis

Also known as Lichen Simplex Chronicus.

Neurodermatitis – also known as Lichen simplex chronicus (LSC) is a skin disorder characterized by chronic itching and scratching. The constant scratching causes thick, leathery, darkened, (lichenified) skin.

It is not life-threatening nor is it contagious, but the itching can be so intense or recurrent that it disrupts your sleep, sexual function and overall quality of life.

Persistent scratching can lead to a wound, a bacterial skin infection, or permanent scars and changes in skin color.
