There is little to no down time and little to no pre and post care. Regardless of which option you choose, there is time to discuss any concerns you may have on the day (if any).

Do I need a consultation?
Some of our treatments require a consultation prior to receiving them – and some also require mandatory supportive pre and post home care products. This is to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you, and that the best results possible will be achieved.

Preparing for a Clinical Facial
Most clinical facials require no specific preparation or home care. You can book them whenever you like (except for Mela Peel Forte).
Clinical Facial & Peels
There is no specific preparation required however, we do recommend a consultation if you’re a new client to ensure the treatment is right for you.
A basic home care routine should also be considered to help improve overall skin health and resilience and enhance any in-clinic treatments.
Home care plays a significant role in your skins ability to look after itself. Best of all, it doesn’t need to complicated. A simple morning and night routine can make a world of difference in the long term.
A good home care routine doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated.
Mela Peel Forte
You will need to commit to a number home care products prior to treatment. If you are not willing to use home care as prescribed, this treatment will not be performed on you.
Home care ensures your skin is well prepared for the in-clinic treatment and is able to recover well post treatment.
As always, a consultation is recommend so that we can discuss the treatment with you and ensure suitability – this is especially important for new clients. For existing clients that are already using prescribed home care and receiving treatments, please contact us prior to booking as we’ll be able to expedite the process for you.
Mela Peel is an advanced treatment (a modified Jessner peel) specifically designed for targeting pigmentation related skin concerns.
What to expect during a Clinical Facial
The treatments are well tolerated and no down-time is expected, nor any adverse side-effects. All treatments are non-invasive are often referred to by clients as being very relaxing.
Clinical Facials
Applies to Level 1, Level 2, Milk Peel & Crystal Peel treatments.
Treatments take from 30-60 minutes to perform. You’ll be guided into the treatment room where you’ll sit down with your clinician for a few moments and discuss any concerns you may have. If you have no concerns, then simply lay back and let us work our magic and enjoy the experience.
The treatment begins by cleansing the skin followed by the application of targeted solutions specific to your skin type, condition and any concerns you’ve mentioned. During the Level 2 treatment, both LED and a Mask is included.
To finish the treatment, the application of a moisturiser and sunscreen is applied.
There is no/minimal downtime and no expected adverse side-effects.
Mela Peel Forte
Mela Peel Forte follows a similar process as described above for other Clinical Facials. The main difference being that Mela Peel Forte is left on your skin and you’ll be required to rinse it off at home approx. 6-8 hours later.
It’s best to receive a Mela Peel Forte treatment during the morning/early afternoon at the latest.
What to expect after a Clinical Facial
The treatments are well tolerated and no down-time is expected (or is very minimal), nor any adverse side-effects.

No downtime is expected. Unless advised otherwise, you should be free to go about your day as normal.
As always, the use of sunscreen and appropriate home care will help support and enhance results and ensure the best possible outcomes.
Mela Peel Forte
You can expect mild-moderate shedding of the skin for up to 7 days post treatment. The skin may feel tight and dry so it’s important to keep a basic, fragrance free moisturiser close by and use it whenever necessary. Vaseline (pure petroleum jelly) can be used if required but we suggest using the home care prescribed to you.
You should be able to go on with your day as normal for the most part – pursuant to the Pre & Post Care Advice.
Post Care Advice & Recommendations
The information provided below is general in nature only. You’ll be advised of post care specific to you during your consultation and/or post treatment. You should always follow this advice!
Clinical Facials & Peels
Applies to Level 1, Level 2, Milk Peel & Crystal Peel
Generally speaking, there is no post care required. You’ll be free to go about your day as your normally world. Your clinician will advise you if there are any specific recommendations you should follow but this is rare.
If we believe you may benefit from a specific home care product, we may recommend something to you.
Mela Peel Forte
You will be required to apply specific home care products for at least 7 days post treatment.
Mela Peel Forte has specific Pre & Post Care Advice that you should read and follow at all times. This is to ensure your skin is well suppoirted and recovers well from the treatment.
In general however, you should be fine to continue on with your day as normal.
If outdoors or in any form of direct sunlight, even for a short period of time, the application of sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 30+ is required.
You should adhere to all Pre & Post Care Advice at all times.

Is a Consultation required?
Our Clinical Facials & Peels are generally well tolerated by most clients and no consultations is required prior to treatment.
As always, Consultations are recommended to ensure we have a good understanding of what it is you wish to achieve and can make the best possible recommendations.
If a treatment you select can’t be performed on the day due to safety and suitable concerns (eg. we believe the treatment may cause more harm than good) then a suitable alternative will be performed.
The exception is Mela Peel Forte. This can not be booked without preparing the skin properly with products we will prescribe to you.
Who can't receive a peel?
These peels are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding or if you are currently using or recently stopped using Roaccutane.
Pre & Post Care Advice & Information
Mela Peel Forte will require preparation with specific key products, as well as post care. We can discuss this with you during your consultation.
